After reviewing SuckleBuster's Chipotle BBQ sauce and Competition BBQ Rub, I've come to expect a top quality product from this company. Hog Waller, a specially formulated blend for pork, met and exceded my expectations. The sweet, salty blend is SuckleBuster's best selling rub for good reason.

Hog Waller consists of salt, sugar and a proprietary blend of spices. The aroma is distinctly highlighted by a chipotle smokeyness. The rub features many flavors typical of a Texas style pork rub. However, it's a bit sweeter than most Texas blends.

I used Hog Waller on pork ribs this weekend and was very pleased with the results. I don't typically use salty rubs (or rubs with chili powder) on ribs. For that reason, I was a little unsure what to expect from Hog Waller. I seasoned both sides of the ribs liberally with Hog Waller and sauced them lightly as they finished. The rub was a fantastic compliment to the pork. The rub wasn't overly salty, but it the flavor still held its own with two different sauces.

Hog Waller is one of the best pork rubs I've used. As much as I've enjoyed SuckleBuster's other products, Hog Waller is my favorite thus far. I'll certainly return to it often when smoking pork ribs.
